The PPUPTPK Subdivision of the Jakarta Provincial Library and Archives Service (DISPUSIP DKI Jakarta) organized a two-day intensive face-to-face workshop aimed at strengthening future-ready competencies for library and information professionals. The program was designed to equip participants with practical knowledge, emerging technologies, and innovative approaches that are increasingly essential in the rapidly evolving information and digital landscape.
The workshop commenced with an opening address by Dr. Nasruddin Djoko Surjono, Head of the Jakarta Provincial Library and Archives Service, who emphasized the importance of continuous professional development and digital transformation in libraries and archival institutions. He highlighted the strategic role of librarians and information professionals in fostering digital literacy, preserving knowledge, and embracing technological innovation to enhance public services.
The event featured a distinguished lineup of experts from academia and industry. Dr. Taufik Asmiyanto, S.S., M.Si., Lecturer in Library and Information Science at Universitas Indonesia, shared perspectives on the evolving role of libraries and the competencies required to remain relevant in the era of digital transformation. Nafi Al Kautsar Putrawan, A.Md.M.I.D., S.Tr.A.B., AI Researcher at Opentrain.ai, delivered practical sessions on artificial intelligence applications, demonstrating how AI can improve library operations, information retrieval, research support, and administrative efficiency through hands-on exercises. Yusuf Witdiarta, S.Si., CTO and Co-Founder of Biroyu Inc., introduced participants to emerging technologies and digital innovation strategies, providing insights into technological trends and implementation within information institutions. Completing the expert panel, Zaidan Abdurrahman Qois, S.Hum., M.HlthInfo., Lecturer in Library and Information Science at Universitas Indonesia, discussed the future of library services, health information management, and the importance of interdisciplinary competencies in modern information ecosystems.
Held on Monday and Tuesday, 27–28 July 2026, at the 4th Floor Auditorium of the Jakarta Provincial Library and Archives Service (DISPUSIP DKI Jakarta), the workshop combined lectures, interactive discussions, case studies, and hands-on practice. This intensive format enabled participants to directly apply newly acquired knowledge while exchanging experiences with experts and fellow professionals.Throughout the two-day program, participants actively explored practical solutions for integrating digital technologies into library and archival services, enhancing information management capabilities, and developing future-oriented professional skills.
The workshop emphasized experiential learning, ensuring that attendees gained applicable knowledge that could be immediately implemented within their respective institutions.Upon completion of the workshop, participants received an official electronic certificate (e-Certificate) recognizing their participation and successful completion of the intensive training. Overall, the event demonstrated DISPUSIP DKI Jakarta's commitment to supporting capacity building, innovation, and digital transformation among library and information professionals, preparing them to address the challenges and opportunities of the future information society.
